HKUST (MIT)

Objective: To create a website with tech-savvy image

Challenge: Two different cultures and colour schemes from HKUST and MIT

Solution: Used pictures and two colours (blue and orange) to project the unity of the two schools

Result: Professional and sleek website design

In 2015, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) partnered with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in establishing the HKUST-MIT Research Alliance Consortium. The alliance is dedicated to building a closer business network among different key players of R&D collaboration, such as leading technology companies, the government, and universities. RollAngle believes that interaction and professionalism is just as important in R&D as in webpage design.

While building the HKUST-MIT website, our web designers modelled it after the MIT homepage but created a more dynamic and tech-savvy image by adopting brighter color schemes like blue and orange. The easy-to-navigate and sleek layout also allows users to obtain important information about funding arrangements, providing a primary platform for various stakeholders to interact with one another and laying the groundwork for future R&D breakthroughs.
